Sarah Palin - Please Don't Run

On Hannity, an early sneak peek of the new Sarah Palin documentary was debuted. It’s called “The Undefeated,” and it’s set to premiere in Iowa this June, interesting because this very well can be the catalyst for her 2012 presidential run. In case you missed it, below is the sneak peak from Hannity.

I don’t want her to run. Don’t get me wrong. There is a lot about Sarah Palin that I like, not the least of which is her daughter Bristol ;), and I have a deep found respect for her. But here’s the thing. While Sarah Palin has a cult following, which you could say I semi-follow, there are many out there that do not like her. Palin would separate the party, casting a wedge in the core and isolating independents. I truly believe if she ran, Obama would win in a landslide. Palin is a gifted organizer and supporter. Some of the best people in the world are the ones “behind the scenes,” and she falls beautifully into that category, even though she’s more in front than behind. What she needs to do is mobilized the tea party and the base to a strong candidate that can bring everyone together, as well as win independents. That’s how this race will be won.

Unfortunately, Palin is not the woman for top office. And honestly, the race hasn’t even really begun; in my opinion, there isn’t a clear cut strong candidate, yet. I like Cain, a lot, but he has his work cut out for him. Romney is out. He’s a RINO, in my opinion. We would have a better shot with Palin than Romney. Bachmann is interesting, but she has her work cut out for her. If Perry runs, we have a strong chance, but I don’t see him running. We’ll see. 2012 is close, but so far away.

We Lost?

Focus on the Family, which provides relevant Christian advice on marriage, parenting and other topics, was once a strong voice against gay marriage. Until now. Jim Daly, the president of Focus on the Family, had this to say about gay marriage:

“We’re losing on that one, especially among the 20- and 30-somethings: 65 to 70 percent of them favor same-sex marriage. I don‘t know if that’s going to change with a little more age — demographers would say probably not. We’ve probably lost that. I don’t want to be extremist here, but I think we need to start calculating where we are in the culture.”

Is this based off the recent Gallup poll? I wouldn’t be surprised. But polls aren’t always the best indicator. To use a leftist tactic… Bush anyone? Lets take a closer look, shall we? has this little map tool that breaks things down state to state. Nationally, this is what we see:

Do you see a losing battle? I don’t. In fact, if anything, I see just the opposite. Remember, it wasn’t that long ago the people in California, CALIFORNIA for goodness sake, voted no on gay marriage. This is why we must be vigilant America. We have to stand together. The second we waiver, is the second they win. All it takes is for conservative groups like focus on the family to stop fighting. The left won’t stop, and neither should the right. If you believe in something, don’t let it get destroyed just because you feel it’s a losing battle. Think about it from the lefts point of view. Not that long ago, the roles were switched, with the left fighting what could have been described as a losing battle. Yet, they held their ground, and here we are. Don’t lose hope America.

Netanyahu and Democracy

Yesterday the left tried to interrupt a speech by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. It’s amazing to see a man take it and prove a point such as he did. Not only did he brush aside the protest but he used it to show what the left just doesn’t understand. We may not get along. We may not like each other. But democracy allows us to live side by side in peace. In other countries, that isn’t possible. In other countries, if you don’t agree with the government, you could be killed for pulling a stunt like this protester did. And, yet, America is the big bad. We have to apologize for our sins. What a joke. God Bless you Prime Minister.

Coming to a Neighborhood Near You!!!

Read these powerful words from Justice Antonin Scalia and Justice Clarence Thomas:

“Today the court affirms what is perhaps the most radical injunction issued by a court in our nation’s history: an order requiring California to release the staggering number of 46,000 convicted criminals.”

Does anyone else find this troubling? The statist are again pushing authority onto the States unlike ever before. Should the Supreme Court be allowed to flatly tell California to release THEIR prisoners because the prisons are overcrowded? What safety threat does releasing that many people pose? How many of the prisoners in the California prisons are illegal? Can’t we just deport them instead? How much is something like this actually going to cost the state?

This ruling creates an interesting dynamic that could have damaging results. I just hope and pray it doesn’t result in the loss of life.

Texas Call to Action

From Campus Carry...

"On Thursday, May 19, Senate Bill 1581, the bill containing Senator Jeff Wentworth’s campus carry amendment, was struck down in the Texas House, on the point of order that it violated the Texas Constitution’s “single-subject” rule. Please call AND fax the office of Governor Rick Perry, and ask that he add campus carry to the list of higher education issues to be included in the impending special session.

Office of the Governor Rick Perry
PHONE: (800) 252-9600
FAX: (512) 463-1849 (Use to send a free fax from your web browser)

Remind the governor that this issue has broad support among both the legislators and the people of Texas. Remind him that campus carry has never been voted down by any faction of the Texas Legislature and that it has passed the Texas Senate twice. Ask him to send a message to opponents that they can’t simply keep running out the clock on this issue forever. Thanks for your continued support of this important issue. Remember, the fight isn’t over!"

Here is my letter that I faxed to the Governor...

"Governor Perry, as I am sure you are aware, On Thursday, May 19, 2011 Senate Bill 1581, the bill containing Senator Jeff Wentworth’s campus carry amendment, was struck down in the House, on the grounds that it violated the “single-subject” rule. Governor, I am deeply disappointed that this important piece of legislation was struck down. It is my understanding that an impending special session is about to take place. Would you please add this legislation to the other important higher education issues?

As a student myself, I implore you to spearhead this issue. Governor, this issue has strong support from both legislators and the people of Texas alike. Together they have shown strong support for the allowance of concealed carry on campus. Further, I call on you to send a strong message to those in the minority who do oppose this issue. Tell them that they can’t simply run the clock out on this issue forever, and that Texas will join the ranks of other states who do currently allow concealed carry on their college campuses.

Thank you for your consideration. May God Bless Texas, and may God Bless the United States of America."

Remember, together we can stand and make a change. Alone, we can do nothing.

Feel Good Friday 5/20/2011 - Post 2

I intended only one story for today, but after seeing this incredible story, I had to include it. It just goes to show the power of will and the desire to survive can overcome any obstacle. Just an amazing story. Enjoy.

Feel Good Friday 5/20/2011

Could you stand up to Stephen Hawking? How about if you were only 12 years old? Well, this boy has, and his story is remarkable. For this Feel Good Friday, lets remember the power and grace of God. His ever lasting love and protection. He is there, all we have to do is look for Him.

Chain Gang, Bang Bang Part Deux!!

The Tucson Unified School District superintendent caved, and in so doing has taught the kids at Tucson a valuable lesson! Good for you sir! You have taught these kids that there no consequences for being out of control, rowdy, and uncivil! You have taught them that by throwing a fit and tantrum, they will get their way! You have also demonstrated that the uncivil practices of the left will work, so long as those in power don't have a freakin' BACK BONE!

In a letter wrote by the superintendent, he has now advised the Tucson school district higher ups to “table and not consider the resolution to make Mexican American Studies an elective.” He also even goes so far as to say he won’t recommend charges against those who were arrested during the protests. He even finishes with an apology for his actions.
Remember, this all stemmed from Arizona recommending that a class that promotes the overthrow of the United States government, a resentment towards certain races (gee, I wonder which one?), wrote for a certain ethnic group (survey says?), teaches that half of Mexico was ripped off by trickery and violence, and my personal favorite… abolish Thanksgiving and make a National Day of Atonement (complete with the headline “Death to the Invader!”).

And remember, this is all coming from a public school. In the United States.

It’s hard to find the words to describe this. What happened America? Where did our sense of patriotism go? What happened to truth, justice, and the American way? How have we got so off track that it’s ok to teach the end of the nation? This may not be happening in your neck of the woods, but it will if we don’t stand up. I said yesterday that we have become a nation ran by the minority. It’s time to change that. It’s time that the silent majority is no longer silent. Stand up. Fight for what you believe you in. They are. And they are winning. Let’s return to the city on a hill. Let’s return to the beacon of hope for the world. We are truly the best and most free nation of them all, let’s show the world why, again.

Talking With A Liberal... Nutcase

Yesterday, I posted this quote as my status on Facebook:

‎"When I marched in the civil rights movement, I did not march one inch, one foot, one yard...for man to be able to marry man, woman able to marry women. We marched because we wanted the right to live the American dream." Rev. William Owens

Less than an hour later, I receive this message from a "friend" of mine:

"have you ever heard of the phrase "Hate the sin, not the sinner" Everyone in this world deserves to marry who they choose, you may not approve of it... but my god would not punish those for simply loving. My god is a loving, compassionate, and understanding God. I believe people are born with certain obstacles and its the way they handle them, not who they are or who they love."

Now to be fair, I don't really know this person. Its been years since I've seen them, a throw back to my Mormon days, to which this person is an active member of. Immediately after placing this comment on my status, the person deleted me as a friend. Not one to let a good debate to go to waste (cough Rahm Emanuel cough) I sent a message that reads:

"(Your Message) It was deleted. In response to your question, yes I have heard of that. Before you judge me, realize that I do not hate homosexuality... But you miss a crucial fact in your stance. Its called the bible. Ever read it? If you God is so wanting homosexuals to get married, why is almost every organized religion against it. Yours included, in fact its often the most in headlines for fighting gay marriage. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't your church believe it receives revelation from God? If thats so, why do you think they fight it so? Also you say your God wont punish those for "loving," and again I point you towards the bible. The fact of the matter is yes, gays have a right to be with each other. And I believe strongly in civil unions. But not marriage. Marriage is defined between one man and one woman. Period. The second you destroy that, the second society spirals out of control. Want proof? Again, read the bible. Amazing book. Best sold book in the history of the world. Highly recommend reading it. Oh, noticed you deleted me off your friends. Classy, you beat me to the punch. Good luck arguing a factless argument."

Here was their response:

"alright (theloneconservative). I refuse to play your game. I was simply stating MY opinion, you seem to forget that others are entitled to them. Yes I did delete you.. because you are so right winged and close minded to anything out of your comfort zone. I'm tired of hearing you mouth off our president and all of your other right winged crap. I'm sorry I'm not as well versed in political jargon, but I try. I figured the reason why you put that up there, was to have a general debate... I apologize if I misunderstood... don't put things in a public forum if you are afraid of anyone believing anything other than what you state, and as to the bible... I've read it many times, I've studied in seminary... I've been a member of my church since birth... so don't try and make it out that I'm a poor member and don't know what Im talking about or don't believe in what I practice. sorry I upset you... but like you I was debating your stance, maybe you should take notice."

I immediately shot back:

"There is a difference between debate and attack. Maybe being so indoctrinated by CNN you forget. You see, in debate you present facts relating to your point of view. In your comment you made a couple of comments pointing directly at me, not the topic on hand. Hence the deletion. Oh and for someone who refuses to "play my game" (whatever that means) you sure did a lot of talking, and attacking. Why is it liberals run from facts, but rush to attack? Typical. Oh, and just because you were ascribed doesn't make you any more or less a part of something. It comes from within. Read my message again. Nowhere did I say or hint that you were a "poor member" of your church. You implied that yourself. And just so we are clear, you did not upset me. If anything, you amused me. Debates are fine, but when attacks are made, I respond in kind. Hints the message. I welcome debate, as debate is one of the great gifts of this nation, and it should be used frequently. But remember, no one person is above the rule of law. Especially those who we place in power. The power of the people shall never be questioned. So yes, I do "mouth off" our President, as he deserves it. He is not above it. The second he is, the Republic dies, along with it, democracy, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And to finish, its not a matter of my comfort zone, its a matter of principle and values. I stand up for what I believe in, and I invite you to do the same. As I said, its what makes America great that we can."

I also noticed that the person wrote on the wall of another friend of my mine that they upset me, which was "awesome." I simply said... "think again =)"

I'll update this if I get a response, but I'm not holding my breath. Its amazing how liberals will rush to attack the person, but quickly back off on facts. This America is a demonstration that we can and will win in 2012. Stop watching the smoke screens that Obama is so good at creating. Stick to the facts and lets get a strong candidate that can voice those facts, and Obama will be just a thing of history.

Bully Pulpit

Oh President Roosevelt, what would you have to say about all the happenings of today?

The other day, in San Antonio TeXas, over 5000 people came together to honor Israel. Unkown to them, a group of pro-Palestinian were in attendance. It wasn't long before they began to interrupt the service shouting their beliefs. They claim it was an act of free speech. Watch the video below (warning, its made by the protestors!) and ask yourself, is this free speech?

Glenn Beck took a moment to talk about this on his show on FOXnews, and I agree with him. Its bullying. And isn't it interesting that the video honoring the protestors uses a "J" instead of an "X" to illustrate their belief that the United States stole Texas? Here's his video:

There is an even more pressing issue here. Minority rule! When did the nation become ran by the minority? We are a nation of free speech. But should free speech be used to interrupt the rights of others. What about the rights of the 5000 others in attendance? Their right to worship as they see fit was disrupted just so others can have their say. When has that become ok? This is where our country is going, and I’m disgusted. If the protestors had stayed outside with signs and chants, that’s one thing. That’s their right. But when they step over the line and disrupt others rights, they should be punished. But they won’t. It’s time we unite and take our country back!

In the Navy, In the Navy...

First, we saw the One declare an ignorance of law, and now this.

What scares me the most about this is the precedent of big government moving in a whole direction. If the military is above federal law, as they claim, does the people who receive these ceremonies then get to be above state laws and receive benefits that civilians cant? If so, that’s a huge red flag to me.

Also, what about the Chaplain's? They say that they don't have to marry people if its against their beliefs, but how true is that? Isn't the military derived of orders, and following orders is top on the list? Very grey area if you ask me.

What happened to America being the light of the world?

Herman Cain

Last night I watched the FOX news Republican debate. I’ll be honest, I went into it not expecting much. In sports terms, I felt it was the junior varsity setting the stage for the varsity team. I was wrong. Herman Cain took charge and held it all night. I was shocked to say the least. That marks two nights this week of a renewed sense of hope for our country. The first being, Osama bin Laden, and the second, a refreshingly strong candidate who holds strong to what he believes in and isn’t afraid to talk about it.

The election is still a long time away, and in politics anything can happen. But I have a refreshed sense of hope in what has been a lackluster start for the Republicans.

Is it a Bird, a Plane? Nope. Its the Unemployment Rate!

The number of people filing for unemployment benefits has skyrocket to an 8 month high. And people think President Obama has the election in the bag, eh? Its always the economy that wins elections and right now, the economy is about as bad as Obama's approval rating.

Carrie Underwood with Vince Gill How Great thou Art

Since I won’t have time for Feel Good Friday tomorrow, here it is. And how could it not be this? Probably one of the most beautiful things I have EVER heard.

Driving = Tax

Here in Texas gas is nearly $4 a gallon. As if that doesn't hurt enough, the government is mulling a tax on how much we drive. They want to put devices in our cars to track how much we drive... big brother anyone?? Supposedly this is stemming from hybrid vehicles and the loss of tax revenue from the government. So… the government pushes higher gas mileage and greener cars, but in return wants to create new taxes so they can make up their loss. I mean it’s not like we are already paying taxes on how much we drive. Oh wait. We do. It’s called gas tax. What’s next, a tax on those who don’t smoke because the government isn’t making money on us non-smokers? When is this going to stop? Wake up America. I’m tired of hearing about taxes. You know what. Let’s cut spending. Stop spending so much damn money and they won’t have to tax us so much.

Let’s look at my University for example. The board recently approved tuition increases because of budget cuts. They claim they don’t want to burden us students with the raising costs, but their hands are tied. Ok. That makes sense. Well… until you look at the budget. Just glancing at the budget, the school is spending over a million dollars in just four student programs. That’s just four programs. Instead of raising tuition, or AHEM taxes, cut spending. Think of how much a 5% cut would save the school, the nation. But people don’t think that way. It just boggles my mind that people think spending will erase debt. Sure as hell wish my credit card company would go along with that. Come on America, wake up.

Osama bin Laden is Dead- Liberty and Justice For All

When I first heard that President Obama was going to make a late night statement in regards to national security, the first thing I thought about was Osama bin Laden. I quickly dismissed that thought. Like many Americans, my faith in capturing Osama was waning. However, like most instances of shaky faith, I was shown the error of my ways. And what a way to witness that error! According to the President, our brave soldiers went in, fought in a fire fight, killed and extracted the body. All without injury on our part. God bless them. What an extraordinary thing that is. I hope that we will be able to hear from these soldiers first hand what it was like taking out the most wanted man in America. I am so thankful for the men and women who serve in our military. For their extraordinary sacrifice and bravery that has kept this country safe, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I started watching the news about an hour before Obama actually spoke. Understandable there was some delay. Unfortunately, I had to watch CNN because my apartment complex charges a surcharge for FOXnews. Surprisingly, they did a half way decent job not bringing politics into their coverage. There was some comments here and there, but overall, it was good coverage. One thing that really did astonish me was the topic of ending our military involvement in Afghanistan. Isn't that how the country got to where it is today? Leaving now would do more harm than good. Like Iraq, we have to finish what we started, or someone even worse than Osama bin Laden may rise. More importantly, however, the war on terror is far from over. This was an amazing victory, but it was only a battle won. The war is not over, nor will it be until America, in fact democracy worldwide, is free from tyranny, free from fear from those who would oppose it.

Lastly, I pray for those around the world, including us, that could be targeted in retaliation. Unfortunately, bin Laden's death may propel him to martyrdom. I fear that although we made amazing progress today, it will take some time to be able to see it. I pray that the Lord watches over us as we continue to strive for whats right. I pray that the meek remain untouched from evil. I pray that although this fight against terror continues, it will end soon with the American flag flying high and proud.

May God bless the men and women of our military for their bravery and sacrifices. And may God bless the United States of America.

Statement from President George W. Bush:
"Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001. I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude. This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done."

Osama bin Laden is Dead!

Still waiting for President Obama to address the nation, but its officially confirmed by the government that Osama bin Laden is Dead! God bless the USA!!!!!
